Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
KSET Incorporated is looking for a qualified person to fill the position of a MCSE. The position is established to support a one year contract for a local government entity. The MSCE will complement the IT Operations Team responsible for providing ongoing server administration and special projects concentrated in the technical areas of implementing a new data backup system and migrating Windows 2008 Servers to Windows 2012 Operating System. The MSCE will be responsible for communicating and working with IT Management and operations personnel to resolve systems issues as well as MS Application issues experienced by users. Additionally, the MSCE will develop the server migration plan and examine the existing data backup system to make recommendations for a more viable and robust system. Position is contractual (1099) and area of work site in Washington D.C., with duty hours occurring between 8:30am and 5:00pm Monday – Friday.
Minimum Qualifications
• Four year degree and 4 years of experience, or work equivalent
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Prior experience of server migrations
• Prior experience implementing and managing of enterprise backup systems
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products including word, excel, etc.
• Knowledge of problem identification and tracking tools
• Self motivated
• Quick learner
Additional Responsibilities and qualifications Include
• Participate in all phases of planning MS Service migrations
• Thoroughly knowledge of NDS architecture and management
• Thoroughly knowledge of login scripting and automated software delivery systems and updates to desktops
• Knowledge of enterprise anti-virus and malware application delivery and .dat file automated updates to desktops
